I Cratered Today - The Stress Hit Hard

Two sleepless nights in a row left me not up to the crap that goes along with this.
If I could have backed out of all of this today I probably would have - I am better now, whew!

First, let's start with the loan mom and dad got that consolidated my credit card and student loans that is in their name only but I will be paying off. I thought that I was cleaning up my finances and getting a lower interest rate. To the mortgage company I received a "gift" from mom and dad. Had we known that the mortgage company would even care about this we might have asked a few questions such as how mom should give me the money. Since we didn't know this would matter, we did what we normally do, transferred the money via the internet. Today, I had to go to the bank and get a statement with the transfer showing with the bank stamp and teller's signature and mother had to do the same. Then dad had to sign the special form stating they've given me a gift. Warning! Warning! If you are planning to purchase a new home and your parents are going help in one way or another have them write a check! You only need a photocopy of that.

Two: my agent didn't get her hands on the contract until 1:30 p.m. Not knowing what the other agent was or wasn't telling the sellers, I was stressing over that until I knew for sure that the document was signed and that the sellers could not back out.

Three: paint is outrageously expensive! I found a five gallon mistinted wall paint in a nice shade of taupe for $20 - one gallon normally runs $26. Good deal. The white ceiling paint however comes straight from the factory - no mistints available cost me $44 for five gallons. ICKY! Of course, the bathroom had to have it's own special ceiling paint which cost $6 for a pint. Why buy now before closing? Mistint cheap paint doesn't normally sit around while you wait to close on the house.

My house inspection will take place Saturday at 8 a.m. - think I'll wear my pj's since my realtor said she was! We had planned on Friday and I was going to take a half-day of vacation, bummer! I guess I have to work all day.

Stressed and Overwhelmed.
