New Roof Yeah....
After the hail barrage on Yukon, OK, I got a new roof. I was able to change the shingles from gray to a reddish brown. I was surprised to find that it made a subtle but better change. Because the siding is white and the shingles where grey it was as if there was no end to the siding in a not so good way. Now it is as if the roof is tying into the brick.
I was not crazy about the company assigned to me from my insurance but it comes with a five year warranty on labor along with the actual shingles. You don't get that if I were to have gone out and hired my own roofer, so I guess it works out in the end.
If the rain will ever stop I will go out take some pictures.

My Spring Present
Every year at this time God sends me this beautiful gift. The red bud tree has to be my favorite! Mine is getting bigger every year and the buds more vibrant.
Then along comes a horrible mean cold front that does this to my beautiful little red bud.
I insist that winter go away! It had overstayed its welcome and it is spring's time.

How Important Is Your Roof?
Thanks that wonderful hail storm Yukon recently received Dana must purchase an new roof! HAPPY! Thankfully I had tuck away my income tax due to the horrible economy, just thought it would be a good idea to have a little nest egg saved. That nest egg has just been turned into a nest ovum.
Because my roof was nine or ten years old when I bought my house, I did not qualify for full replace cost on my roof with my insurance. So I got $2,800 check for what will probably be a $5,500 bill. I am a little excited to change the look of my white/grey shingles to dark hickory shingles. I've always thought the roof looked a little on the cheap side, so now I will be able to get that fixed.
In a month or so, the only thing original at my place will be the dirt! Not bad for four years.

No Thank You Easter Bunny
You know, when I moved ten minutes from Oklahoma City, I really didn't think that I was moving to a place very different than the city. Four years since I have learned to think nothing of frogs in my house, suicidal birds who allow themselves to be caught by the resident beagle and KILLED nor have I even thought much about the crazy bunny who claims the backyard when Winston is inside. That is until Saturday when I had to go outside and extract her from Winston's mouth! Then I had to wipe the bunny fur from his mouth.
Somehow this crazy bunny didn't think she could get out of the backyard and froze by the gate. Winston and I stood inside the house and watched her for at least ten minutes - I wanted to make sure she wasn't hurt. She would not move, she was so scared. Let me give anyone considering moving to Yukon, don't mistake it for the city and don't get a homicidal beagle!
By the way, why do dogs roll in dead? Winston got an impromptu bath this weekend after rolling all over a decomposing baby bird. Give me the city-life!
