No Thank You Easter Bunny

Bunny Rabbit shivers by fence waiting for us to leave her backyard. You know, when I moved ten minutes from Oklahoma City, I really didn't think that I was moving to a place very different than the city. Four years since I have learned to think nothing of frogs in my house, suicidal birds who allow themselves to be caught by the resident beagle and KILLED nor have I even thought much about the crazy bunny who claims the backyard when Winston is inside. That is until Saturday when I had to go outside and extract her from Winston's mouth! Then I had to wipe the bunny fur from his mouth.

Somehow this crazy bunny didn't think she could get out of the backyard and froze by the gate. Winston and I stood inside the house and watched her for at least ten minutes - I wanted to make sure she wasn't hurt. She would not move, she was so scared. Let me give anyone considering moving to Yukon, don't mistake it for the city and don't get a homicidal beagle!

By the way, why do dogs roll in dead? Winston got an impromptu bath this weekend after rolling all over a decomposing baby bird. Give me the city-life!

I've Laid Down and I Can't Get Up!

I have not laughed so hard in a long time as I did when I walked in my bedroom and found Seamus STUCK! He got himself in the position and didn't think he could get up. Every time he moved, I think, he thought his bum was gonna fall off. So needless to say I ran and grab the camera snapped five or six photos then helped him get in a sitting position that allowed him to get free. What does Seamus do? He sits straight up and doesn't move as if to say "geeze that was embarassing, did any one see?" All I could do was laugh!

I Smell Peanut Butter

This makes me laugh every time I have to give one of the boys a pill. They are so good together. They never fight over food just raw hide bones - go figure.

Rain, Rain Go Away

This is latest video starring baby Winston! I recently called the vet over Winston's reaction to rain. This video is when we had a very gentle rain - it was a steady rain but felt like mist and baby acts like this. So you can only image what happens when it storms. My vet called in a Rx for Zanex. Just imagine walking up to your Pharmacist and asking for Winston "Insert Your Last Name Here". It was funny to me. My dog gets better drugs than I do!

Spring Surprises

Here is one perk about buying an older home. With that older home you get land with mature trees. This Redbud is one of my favorites.

How Succulents Commit Suicide

Okay, I don't know what's wrong with this stupid catus. First the red flower on top dies then the crazy thing grows these two arms that are going to be too heavy and end up killing it. Also what's with those root like thingys? Why do my plants always do the wierd things? If you know what the proper protocol is when your succulent tries to kill himself please let me know.

Idiot Head

See this sore on baby's nose...IT'S SELF INDUCED! Idiot head thinks he needs to hide his rawhide bones in the house and this rug burn is from him trying to cover the bones with non-existent dirt. He sweeps his nose across the couch or bed trying to move the "dirt" over the bone cause the skin to rub off!

Yesterday, I came home to blood cover pillowcase. Not real happy with his behavior right now.

I am more than done, I am exhausted.

I am completely exhausted from our marathon shopping spree to outfit my new remodeled bathroom. We started out at Garden Ridge, then when to Burlington and then to Bed, Bath and Beyond then returned to Burlington. I have just a few more items to get but for the most part I am done. Check out the video.

I am almost DONE!

The week after Thanksgiving we began tearing out everything in my itty bitty bathroom. It's only 35 square feet or 5 feet by 7 feet - little! You would think that with it so small that three weeks later it would be done. Nope! Not done, I still have to seal the grout and the shower doors need to be installed. Then I need to figure out how to finish it out with pretty things.

We had a few hiccups. Dad fell on the ice during that record ice storm and broke a rib. He lived with the pain not knowing what it was and thought it was bronchitis cause it only hurt when he coughed. Mom sent him to the doctor and we found out what it was. The doctor told him not to pick up anything heavy for a month. So no more work on the bathroom.

During the install, we learned the light and mirror I pick out where bad choices so we returned the light and got a new one and I had a decorative mirror in my hallway that was perfect for the bathroom.

My toilet wasn't going to be replaced but it got broke when dad reinstalled it - he thinks it was due to an unlevel spot in the floor. So I was going to have to buy a new one but the pack rat that my father is, he had a perfectly good toilet in his attic when bought a new tall toilet for his master bath. So....that was free. [Who keeps toilets in their attic????]

I love the tile but it does look a little bit castle-ie. But hey, I am a princess right? The tile work was exhausting, poor dad would work 5 hours and only get two rows up due to all the cutting that was required. When the doors are in and the decorations are up it will be fantastic.

There are no more major renovations to do to the house that we can do. Next will be to have drive way repaved. Wooo Hooo! Merry Christmas all!

My New Bathroom is on Order

Well it's started. I have finally started buying new items to renovate my bathroom, which will force us to finally remodel that place. This was the hardest to decide what to do, since it is so small everything has to be right.

I bought 16 X 24 floor traverstine stone tile that is a nice creamy beige/gold/tan. The shower surround will be the same tile only 8 X 16. The sink will be streamlined with the wash stand look.

The new lights are fabulous! See photo...

The new mirror is the oil rubbed bronze that my fixtures will also be but it has a bonus in that it is a medicine cabinet too. I have to maximize on all my space.

Here's to hoping that everything come together right!

My Mom, Winston's Grandma

This is my mom. She is responsible for the completion many of the projects in this house. I can't count the number of times she has come over while Dad and I would be at work and paint, clean, or paint, pick up or paint some more. Without her, many projects would have taken twice as long. When you see the baseboards in my kitchen, you see her handy work with the paint brush.

She also spoils my baby beagle. Everyday when I am at work, I know Winston is safe and happy with Grandma. She goes over and picks up baby and makes sure all is well.

This is my mom and I am truly lucky to have her for my mom.

My New Kitchen

Attached are photos of my new kitchen for those of you who don't want to watch the video.

Take a long look at it now, Mom helped me paint and clean after the renovation. I doubt that I can ever get it this clean again.
